Founded in 1961 under the name of K.J Textiles Pty Ltd, our company made history when it became the first furnishing fabrics wholesaler in Australia to specialise in commercial upholstery fabrics.
Founded in 1961 under the name of K.J Textiles Pty Ltd, our company made history when it became the first furnishing fabrics wholesaler in Australia to specialise in commercial upholstery fabrics.
In 1963 K.J Textiles obtained a licence in Australia to manufacture a range of woollen upholstery fabrics from Denbo, a Danish company based in Sweden. These fabrics, Joker, Golf, Trombone and Sitar have set high standards in quality and durability which, to this day are considered as industry benchmarks.
In 1990 Svenska Fabrics merged with K.J Textiles and the entire range (with the exception of de Ploeg) and formed the company name of SvenskaKJ.
This amalgamation meant that SvenskaKJ could offer customers improved levels of technical service and a wider range of premium products.
